Something about this photo brings me peace.  Yesterday, I turned a decade older.  While I’d love to say that I’m embracing it (and I’m sure I eventually will), I must admit it was a little depressing too.  Bittersweet, I guess.  So many amazing things have happened these past few years and time really flew by.  I have a lot of exciting things to look forward to this upcoming year and I know it will also fly by, so I just want to stop for a moment and take it all in.  *breathe*  That’s what this photo does for me.

I’m flying out to Boston today. I will be delivering the rest of this session to the lovely couple – can’t wait for them to see it.  And I will be shooting the wedding of one of the cutest couples.  Exciting weekend ahead!  Stay tuned!

  1. Ali, there’s no one right direction. The best way to find out what works best for you is to just do it. At least that’s how I like to work. every destination is different and everyone’s cost is different

  2. I agree with you Caroline, that photo does seem to evoke a sense of peace. It captures a moment in time that seems to be that delicate and pure feeling of true happiness. A few years back I hit a “decade bday” myself & in retrospect the anticipation was worse than actually being there. I finally did embrace it & realized age is simply a marker in time. The things you share with us indicate you have a youthful soul… and that is what is important. If that doesn’t help there’s always botox! Happy Bday! =) We always look forward to your posts! Thanks you for the inspiration!

  3. Hi Carolyn. I enjoy your pics on Facebook! They are amazing. I am really wanting to become a destination photographer and would like your input on where to start the process or how to get exposed. There are so many options out there and my budget isn’t that large, so I want to be steered in the right direction.

Can you help me out? I would appreciate it very much.

    Thank you,

    Ali
