Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

Downtown Los Angeles Engagement Photography | Cindy + Andy (Part 2)

Hope you’re all having a great holiday season!  I am shooting in the San Jose area this week, so I will be out tomorrow until Monday, Jan 5.  I will respond to emails next Monday.  In the meantime, have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful new year ahead!

And before I leave, I’ll leave you with the rest of Cindy & Andy’s engagement teasers.  Our last stop was in Chinatown.  This is actually the same location I took my wedding photos, so it was really fun to be back there, but on the other side of the camera!

a kiss

Andy and Cindy were initially nervous about being photographed.  They had never been professional photographed before!  As you can see from the next photos, they relaxed and totally had fun.  Engagement sessions are a  great way to ease the jitters.  Better to deal with the jitters now and not the big day!

happy times

I just love their laughter.  This was a candid moment.  They were laughing about something and I snapped this right when Andy looked over at me.

I like this next photo.  Quick snapshot while they were hanging out.

I love how they laugh together.

I told Andy to whisper something in Cindy’s ear.  I wonder what he said…

I love this next photo because it reminds me of Taiwan.  Cindy & Andy actually just vacationed there.  They just came home a few weeks ago, so I thought it was fun to capture the Taipei feel for them.  I went to Taipei 10 years ago and totally miss the night life there!

Then we ended the night in this dark street with lots of graffiti.

gangsta!

I think it’s funny how this picture looks so “pretty”, a total contrast to the graffiti.

Again, have a happy happy new years!  See you in 2009!

Los Angeles Engagement Photography | Cindy + Andy (Part 1)

I was really good friends with Cindy back in middle school.  We used to hang out after school while our parents were at work.  We loved Sanrio and had quite the collection – which I still have!  After middle school, we lost touch.  We went to seperate high schools and that was that.

Fifteen years later, Cindy finds me during her wedding planning!  It was so crazy when we first met up.  We chatted as if no time was lost, but we were fifteen years older than the last time we saw each other.  It is so nice to reconnect with old friends!

It was so great to see that Cindy and Andy found each other.  They are such a perfect match.  We started our adventure at Union Station.  We walked by this cool tunnel and I just had to get a shot in there.

tunnel of love

Then we went underground to get a photo in the subway… and that’s when we got kicked out for not having a permit.  Dang, and we just got started too!  Anyone know how much it is for a permit to shoot there?  Well, good thing I was able to snap this one before we got caught!  :D   Totally worth it.

time flies when you're having fun

On our way out, Andy found a newspaper and took a little break.  ;)

They are so so cute.  This next photo is totally candid and not posed at all.  Isn’t it adorable how they sit in unison too?  I swear they sat down and crossed their legs at the same time, totally unaware!

And I love how her feet/legs alone shows how into him she is.

Since our fun was cut short at Union Station, we headed over to nearby Walt Disney Concert Hall to continue.   I love how they look like they’re on top of the world.  I’m sure that’s how they feel when they’re together.

top of the world

It’s interesting trying to find light in the middle of downtown LA.  All the tall buildings tend to block the sun.  The reflective walls at the concert hall though both block the sun, as well as reflects it.  So it was fun walking around searching for that light.

I like how they’re both in this bend.  It’s analogous to successful relationships – both sides must bend… and bend together.  :)

And I just love that natural sparkle in her eyes.  I am so happy to see that my childhood friend is all grown up and found true love!  Congrats and I can’t wait for your wedding in February!

Stay tuned for part 2 of their engagement session!  Part 2 is casual and fun.  :)
