about the artist

I love having fun, learning new things, making people smile, and telling stories. I love seeing life through fun angles. I enjoy inspiring others as well as being inspired by others. I have the most supportive husband, best friend, and partner. We enjoy hiking, traveling, our furry kids, snowboarding, weddings, and of course, photography.

I love weddings.  Weddings are filled with thoughtful details and emotions, and I love capturing those precious memories. I love telling vivid wedding stories. I put my heart into every photo, so you will see personality, new perspectives, a great story, and life in my photos.

I work unobtrusively, using my mix of photojournalism, candid, and fine-art portraiture style.  I document those important moments with the most interesting, truthful and beautiful perspective.  I understand how much time and thought is put into each wedding - that’s why it is so important to me that you to experience your big day all over again every time you see your pictures.

The opportunity to capture your memories and tell the story of such a special day is truly an honor to me. I enjoy developing relationships with each couple, which allows me to make each set truly unique & memorable.

This blog is where I will update my most recent photos along with random bits from my life. It is a casual place to get to know each other. If there are specific photos you want to see more of, you can click on the categories at the top to see photos of that category. I hope you find what you’re looking for here. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!  I’d love to hear from you!

I am based in Los Angeles, but travel and destination weddings are welcome!
I book weddings up to 15 months in advance.

My wedding
calendar is booked through April 2011.

Wayfarers Chapel Wedding Photography | Stacy & Lee

Stacy and Lee got married at the beautiful Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes, which is nestled in a grove of towering redwood trees.  The natural sanctuary of Palos Verdes stone and glass designed by Lloyd Wright gives unique expression to the sacred space that welcomes all wayfarers along life’s path.  The beauty of Wayfarers Chapel was a perfect reflection of Stacy & Lee’s releationship.

I love it when couples choose to have a first look before the ceremony. It’s such an emotional moment for them and gives them time to soak in the moment.

I love the way she looks at him.  I can see how much she adores him here.

And he adores her just as much.

We also had the opportunity to take these cool “Thank You” photos before the ceremony.

And then time for the ceremony! I love how Stacy’s mom & dad both walked her down the aisle.

It was so great to work with Joe from Today’s the Day.  I actually had tried to hire him for our own wedding, but he was already booked.  Even though he was booked, he gave us great tips on how to make our own montage and we are very thankful for his diy tips.  It was great to finally meet him in person.

After the ceremony, we just had to take a photo to capture the beautiful trees.  I love the beauty that surrounds them.

And I totally LOVE the photos we were able to get before reception!  I love it when couples plan lots of time in between for photos.  It gives them time to unwind and relax before the party begins.

Wasn’t it such a perfect day?

When Stacy first contacted me, she was unsure of her location.  She sent me an email to say that she has decided on Wayfarers Chapel, but needed a reception location.  This happened to be right after I shot for Bistro 767, so I was going to email her the suggestion when she wrote another email telling me that she just visited my blog and saw that I had JUST blogged about Bistro 767!  It was totally meant to be!

They had a super cute, creamed color cake with sugar plumerias all over.  The delicious cake was made by none other than Kings Hawaiian Bakery.
