Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

Carneros Inn Wedding Photography | Selina & Chris

I have fallen behind on blogging.  It has been a super busy time of year, but I’m getting caught up, so stay tuned for more updates.

Selina & Chris got married at the beautiful Carneros Inn in Napa, CA.  Napa was a treat for everyone as most guest flew in from LA and London.

The gorgeous bouquets:

Nicholson Ranch Wedding Photography | Selina & Chris Mehndi Ceremony

It was SUCH an honor to be able to document Selina & Chris’ destination wedding in Napa, CA.  Selina has been a woman I’ve admired for years now.  To quote her brother, she’s the “Doogie Howser of business”.   As one of her undergraduate projects at Stanford, she created what’s now known as Evite.

A few years ago, she moved to London to be a senior vice-president at Ticketmaster UK.  This is where she met Chris, and now a new chapter begins for them.

The first day of celebration began at Nicholson Ranch with her Mendhi application ceremony.   Karen did a fantastic job!  I love the peacock!

Selina’s beautiful dress.  Love the details!

details

Lots of love and lots of helping hands, not only evident in the details of this destination wedding, but also in how many hands were ready to help her dress without ruining her henna.

lots of help

Her father had tried many different styles of draping and had been practicing.  He knew exactly how he wanted to do it.  It’s so sweet to see how special this day was for him!

He has been practicing

He even helped her put her shoes on!  This is a moment I don’t see often.

father of the bride

Selina’s mom was explaining to Selina some of the mendhi tradition.  One that made Selina laugh so hard is how the groom’s initials is hidden in the henna design.  Since most Indian weddings are arranged, the wedding night can be a bit awkward, so as an ice breaker game, the groom searches for his initials that night.  As her mom put it, “It helps for the… you know!” and nudges Selina.   Selina couldn’t stop laughing!  It was such a cute moment!

Can you find Chris’ initials?

Did you find it?  :)   Karen then stayed the rest of the evening to apply henna for guests.  So beautiful!

Selina’s mom brought these beautiful earrings for Selina.

Selina and her dad are super close.   Even though they live on opposite sides of the world, they talk all the time.  It was evident how close they are and how much they have missed each other.

Father and daughter

A sweet moment between Chris & Selina.  Since majority of guests flew in for the wedding, Selina and Chris each had lot of friends and family to catch up with, so finding them together like this was not common this first night.  But the few moments they shared together was filled with so much love and joy.

A perfect night

Stay tuned for Day 2!  :)
