Angela and Charles are so adorable and have so much fun together. I love the way they laugh together and how playful they are. We obviously had a blast during their session. It actually ended up being quite an adventure – a story you wouldn’t want to miss, so pull up a chair and read on.
We started under the pier.
Charles likes to brag. See image below.
Then we took a bike ride down and that’s when the adventure began. So looks like a nice road, right? Yeah, it’s different after sunset. Keep reading.
Angela was such a trooper. Charles really wanted a photo with her on the handle bar, but she had a bad accident when she was younger when her foot got stuck in the wheel. She was traumatized and did not want to do it, but Charles was able to convince her – it is so sweet to see how much she trust him, and how well he cares for her.
I just love how much fun they have together. The whole day was full of giggling.
…and lots of kisses, of course!
I love these next few shots. I saw the opportunity to take this silhouette photo, so I went into the bushes to snap this photo. I had barely snapped a shot when Charles warned me about the rattle snakes in the bushes. I immediately jumped out. Luckily I was able to get a shot first! So worth it!
I LOVE Angela’s beach cruiser. Love that little heart.
And after I took this photo, not more than 10 minuets after that silhouette photo, we saw a rattle snake in the bushes! The three of us ran away while Jonathan stayed behind to get a better look – he has always been into reptiles. *shutters*
So next we jumped on the train tracks for some photos. The tracks happen to bend around mountains on both sides, so we were a little worried, but figured that we’d be able to hear the train approaching. I mean, they’re big and loud – how could you miss them, right?
So to get this following shot, I sat on the ground in some funky position. I had to protect my 2nd camera and extra lenses in my Shootsac, so I had it draped around me weird while I sat on my foot.
Right after I took that photo, Charles yells, “train!” Everyone jumped off the tracks, but I had a difficult time getting up from my awkward position. I eventually get up, but my flip flop was stuck in the track! I look up and see the train approaching, so I jumped off and ran barefoot on the sharp rocks. 10 seconds later, the train flashes by us. We all stood there stunned and speechless for a few seconds, then start cracking up. I then told them that I lost my sandal on the track. Charles ran up to look and luckily, it was stuck in the middle part and was okay. But still, that was crazy. Funny in hindsight, I guess. We couldn’t stop laughing about it the rest of the night.
On the way back, Angela let me ride her bike. I haven’t ridden a bike since 5th grade! …It’s true, you don’t forget.
Charles was skateboarding along side me. We went through that previously nice looking path during dusk. It was okay, but was quickly getting dark and there were no lights. Charles casually says to me, “Oh by the way, this is bobcat country.”
I look at him stunned and pointed out the last two things (snake & train) he pointed out occurred within 10 minutes after he said it! I turn around and tell Angela and Jonathan that a bobcat is sooo going to show up now! Suddenly, Angela and Jonathan hears rustling in the bushes… turns out to be a rabbit. While they were oogling at the cute bunny, I look up above and think, “hm… those are some funny looking birds. They fly weird.”
I point out the funny looking birds to the rest and I hear Jonathan & Charles say, “um… those aren’t birds, those are BATS!” So we bolted out of there, laughing the entire time. What an adventure!!
