Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I love having fun, learning new things, making people smile, and telling stories. I love seeing life through fun angles. I enjoy inspiring others as well as being inspired by others. I have the most supportive husband, best friend, and partner. We enjoy hiking, traveling, our furry kids, snowboarding, weddings, and of course, photography.

I love weddings.  Weddings are filled with thoughtful details and emotions, and I love capturing those precious memories. I love telling vivid wedding stories. I put my heart into every photo, so you will see personality, new perspectives, a great story, and life in my photos.

I work unobtrusively, using my mix of photojournalism, candid, and fine-art portraiture style.  I document those important moments with the most interesting, truthful and beautiful perspective.  I understand how much time and thought is put into each wedding - that’s why it is so important to me that you to experience your big day all over again every time you see your pictures.

The opportunity to capture your memories and tell the story of such a special day is truly an honor to me. I enjoy developing relationships with each couple, which allows me to make each set truly unique & memorable.

This blog is where I will update my most recent photos along with random bits from my life. It is a casual place to get to know each other. If there are specific photos you want to see more of, you can click on the categories at the top to see photos of that category. I hope you find what you’re looking for here. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!  I’d love to hear from you!

I am based in Los Angeles, but travel and destination weddings are welcome!
I book weddings up to 15 months in advance.

My wedding
calendar is booked through April 2011.

Newborn Baby Photography | Cannon Jax

I am so extremely blessed to be able to befriend such wonderful people, and be a part of their major milestones in such an intimate way.

I not only got to see Alexis and Sean through their gorgeous wedding, beautiful maternity, and their very first baby, but I got to experience it with them in an extremely personal way.  I got to tell the story of these joyous moments and preserve these memories for them.  I feel incredibly lucky and honored to have been trusted with such a significant role.

Six days prior to this shoot, Alexis gave birth to Cannon Jax… natural birth… 9 lbs+…  nuff said.   The cycle of life never cease to amaze me.  Sadly, Sean’s dad passed away around the same time that CJ was born and was out of town for his father’s funeral during this shoot.  My deepest condolences go out to Sean’s family.  I know he’s now in heaven watching over CJ and the joy that CJ brings into your lives will fill any voids.

Meet CJ…

I so love how heavenly he looks sleeping.  He looks like a baby angel.  And look at those little toes!

I enjoyed finding places to put him.  :)

I found this little Radio Flyer Wagon last month and HAD to put it to use.  I can’t believe he even slept so peacefully in the tiny wagon!  Don’t believe me?  Check out that smile.  :)   And the image to the right just cracks me up.

Thank you Sean & Alexis for allowing me to be part of your lives.  I am extremely lucky to have met you both and look forward to being a part of all that lies ahead!

For anyone who is interested in a newborn session, I’d love to hear from you!  If you are scheduling the birth date, these sessions are scheduled (tentatively) before the baby is even born.  Otherwise, parents will contact me the day the baby is born (usually via text message) and we schedule the shoot immediately.  The first few weeks with your new baby can be overwhelming, so it’s really common to miss the newborn period (first 2 weeks).  Pictures will be the last thing on your mind, so if you know that you really want these photos, contact me soon so that I can make make this happen for you.  I hope to document those new little fingers and toes for you!
