about the artist

I love having fun, learning new things, making people smile, and telling stories. I love seeing life through fun angles. I enjoy inspiring others as well as being inspired by others. I have the most supportive husband, best friend, and partner. We enjoy hiking, traveling, our furry kids, snowboarding, weddings, and of course, photography.

I love weddings.  Weddings are filled with thoughtful details and emotions, and I love capturing those precious memories. I love telling vivid wedding stories. I put my heart into every photo, so you will see personality, new perspectives, a great story, and life in my photos.

I work unobtrusively, using my mix of photojournalism, candid, and fine-art portraiture style.  I document those important moments with the most interesting, truthful and beautiful perspective.  I understand how much time and thought is put into each wedding - that’s why it is so important to me that you to experience your big day all over again every time you see your pictures.

The opportunity to capture your memories and tell the story of such a special day is truly an honor to me. I enjoy developing relationships with each couple, which allows me to make each set truly unique & memorable.

This blog is where I will update my most recent photos along with random bits from my life. It is a casual place to get to know each other. If there are specific photos you want to see more of, you can click on the categories at the top to see photos of that category. I hope you find what you’re looking for here. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!  I’d love to hear from you!

hehehe, I got to put my Physics degree to use for the above shot.  ha!  Cheryl and Roman met while teaching biology.  They are one of THE BEST teachers and people I have ever met in my life.  We actually used to all teach together in South LA.  Cheryl was super woman – she literally...

los angeles engagement | jennifer + matthew

Jennifer and Matthew are so fun and cute together.  They couldn’t be a better fit – Matthew makes her laugh like no one else can, and she reminds him to be serious when appropriate.  They wanted to have an engagement session that would contrast their beautiful garden wedding setting, so we hit up downtown LA.

I...

American Idol & Solar 4R Schools

This is totally wedding UNrelated, but I am so proud of one of my best friends, Janet.  She has the biggest heart and totally does not give herself enough credit.  Last year, one of the grants she wrote was to BP to start up an energy efficient club/class.  She split the class into groups, with...

los angeles beach engagement | vivian + sean (part 3)

Vivian couldn’t decide between the city or the beach, so she ended up adding on an additional session to do both.  We ended our fun afternoon together at the beach.  After Union Station and Walt Disney Concert Hall, we headed to Santa Monica to catch sunset.  The light was amazingly beautiful!  I really love how...

nathaniel ayers | the soloist

During Vivian and Sean’s engagement session, there was an amazing cellist playing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.  His music was moving, so we lingered awhile to listen .  He appeared to be a transient, so that made me really sad.  But it also made me really interested to hear his story.  How does a...
