Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

Kristin & Eric are so so sweet.  Kristin is a graphic designer with great taste, so I’ve been waiting to all her plans come together.  At our first meeting, they told me about the kilts and the sock knives that Eric’s brother made himself.  I was so excited to see the men in kilts, but was even more excited when I saw Kristin’s matching red plaid shoes!

Kristin wore her grandmother’s diamond earrings.  They were so dainty & delicate!  And of course, Kristin designed their invitations herself, including the cool rose logo.

And then we’re off to the Los Angeles arboretum!

According to Eric’s brother’s toast, “Eric can talk the pants off of anyone.  We have 5 guys here to prove it.”  Proof:

Aren’t they just so adorable together??

And then the ceremony begins!  This was actually the tricky part… originally, her officiant (and family friend) did not allow any photos.  Thankfully, she allowed us to take some photos from the OUTSIDE of the garden.  I loved the challenge!  I felt like a spy.  :)

They love books, so each table was named after an author.

The groomsmen behind made such a great backdrop to the garter retrieval!

And instead of a traditional cake, they had tiramisu!  yum!

Congrats to Kristin & Eric on a beautiful wedding!  I know their new journey together will be filled with love and laughter!

June 1, 2009 - 12:48 am Jo Pearson - Hi Caroline, I love your work and think that your 'undercover' photos work well. In the UK we are often stopped from photographing by ministers or registrars - not so much where I work where they are quite relaxed but in nearby Lake District some registrars stop you from photographing anything at all during the ceremony. Its very sad - marriage is bashed enough as it is, and photographing these wonderful intimate moments in such a beautiful way would be a fab advertisment! Ah well, enough moaning. I've looked at your blog a lot over the last couple of months and think your work is great. Good luck with it all. Kind regards Jo Pearson

June 1, 2009 - 8:07 am Carole Harvey - I love the way you group the pictures and what your eye sees; the little things that are so marvelous and significant that the rest of us over look. The pictures of them laughing and having fun capture the moments well. Thanks for all the hard work, can't wait to see all the rest.
