Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

new | old

Half way through Desiree & Steve‘s engagement session, Steve mentioned about finding an old engagement photo of his parents where they were randomly arm wrestling.  I hadn’t seen the photo, but thought it would be fun to imitate his parent’s photo.  Here is my modern take on them arm wrestling:

After the shoot, I was dying to see the original photo!  I loved that I had not seen the original image because the temptation to exact replicate it would be too great.  I wanted to shoot it my way and capture their uniqueness first (and not have them just copy his parents).  I was so excited when Desiree sent me a scan this week.  Here is Steve’s parents a few decades ago:

We also did this similar thing with Judy & Rex, so I’ll get a copy of their version of new | old when they get back from their honeymoon!  Any of you have new | old to share?  I’d love to see any of your renditions/plans/inspiration!
