vintage military engagement photos

Betty contacted me a few months ago about doing a vintage inspired military engagement session.  Brandon’s in the Army and is getting deployed, so they wanted to do an engagement session before he leaves.  They both live in Texas now, so while they were visiting LA, we headed out to Pasadena for our session.

So here’s the story of boy meets girl:

I love how much fun they have together.  I love watching them laugh.

How often do you find a couple making out in the middle of an intersection? :)  I love it!

And I love how much body language tells you…  You can tell so much about the big picture by looking at the details.

And of course the big picture is super cool too! :D

And I just love how cute this last image is.  I was looking for a place to do a normal shadow, but instead we found this cool shadow instead!

Betty & Brandon, thank you so much for this fun shoot!  I wish you two all the best, especially while you’re apart, and look forward to Brandon coming home!

i am absolutely in love with your work. there is something so…romantic about that them. it’s hard to explain. this is such a gorgeous session – love the unique angles & compositions.

can i ask what lens(es) you are using? particularly in the shots that you use to open each session (and in this case photo #11 with the sky background). i love the way so much of the environment is around them but they are still apart of the photo…when i try shots like that the people are either teeny-tiny or far too big/normal sized (if that makes sense).

Wow, wow, wow!! I love these shots so very much. I’m a sucker for WWII era so this engagement session is just plain adorable. Thank you to Brandon for his service!

I would think I’d died and gone to heaven if I had photos like this of me and my hubby. Beautiful. Oh… and the shot of the couple on the floor down the staircase??? Brilliant. Hysterical. Excellent. I LOVE IT. LOVE IT.

i am totally in love of their smooching shot in front of Tiffany’s. it reminds me of Breakfast at Tiffany’s – totally classic, especially with the groom dressed in his military gear and the ever so stylish bride with her cute outfit.

i think out of all of your engagement shoots, this one is my absolute FAVORITE!
