about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

charity-water-donationBefore I start today’s post, I just wanted to thank everyone for participating in a buck a comment.   I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!  I sure did.  I got to hang out with old friends and family.  I am so grateful for all the love and support in my life.  I am thankful for all my readers love & support, and your 136 wonderful comments during the past 2 weeks.  I am thankful to have my basic needs (and more) taken care of and that I’m able to share a bit of it.  I just sent charity:water $136.  Thank you all for your support & participation!  I’m a true extrovert who feeds off of people around me and their energy, so thank you.  Thank you for giving me the energy to shoot & tell stories.

I’m not sure how your Thanksgiving looked, but it was 80 degrees here in LA.  I am thankful for our warm weather because I love shooting on the beach… and I’m a wuss when it comes to cold… unless I’m snowboarding.  I notice I’ve been getting a lot of emails lately from couples who just got engaged and wants to do a session.  No wedding date planned yet, but they just want a session to be able to show their friends and family.  I’m used to engagement sessions being done right before the wedding with your wedding photographer, so this is interesting to me.  I’m never one to follow conventions though, so I love it.  It’s perfect timing too since it can be mailed out with their holiday cards!

Chris & Nicole contacted me soon after their engagement to do a session.  It was fun brainstorming things that would bring out their personality.  They’re both from the east coast, but moved here a few years ago and now live right on the beach.  We thought it would be great to share with all their friends & family a piece of their life.  Chris loves surfing and suggested to bring out their surfboards.  Of course I loved the idea!

The light was just so amazing.

It was actually pretty cold this day.  Nicole was such a trooper.  It was fun running up and down the beach with them though.  The run warmed us up a bit.

I loved watching how happy Chris & Nicole are together.  They were all giggles & smiles.

And I love it when she tippy toes to kiss him.  So sweet!

And check out the amazing sunset.  I never tire of shooting at the beach because the clouds will always make each sunset different.

You may remember the wedding I shot of my two former students, Kevin & Gisel.  If you haven’t, check it out!  Their whole wedding was done for around $4000 – and that was for 100 guests too!  …Well, they now have a baby boy!  Meet Timothy!  In all honesty, I was upset when I first found out they were pregnant.  I couldn’t help but to think of all the things they would be missing out on, like dorm life and the college life that I loved so much and so thankful for!  After meeting Timothy, my heart melted.  I felt like a grandma.  My students are now parents to such a sweet boy.  It was an amazing feeling to watch them take care of Timothy.

It’s so touching to see new parents.

Look at those eyes!  And the way Kevin cares for Timothy!

When I first found out they were pregnant, I was disappointed and really wish they waited until after college.  But when I saw them together as a family, I could not help but to be moved by this little guy they created.  I don’t even know how to describe it, but to see them share a love for something that is beyond themselves, and to see them as adults, I can’t help but to be happy for them too.

This blog entry was especially difficult for me to write – it took me 1.5 hrs to write!  I don’t think I had fully processed my thoughts yet.  I originally intended this to be a Thanksgiving post where I shared what I was thankful for, but went in a completely different direction.  An hour an a half later, I realize that I am extremely thankful for all my opportunities & experiences.  I am thankful for not having to worry about money while going through college.  And while I would’ve preferred for Kevin & Gisel to have waited until after college, things will all work out.  It will be a much more difficult journey for them now with the extra responsibilities, but this is still a beautiful moment for them, and it is still an awesome feeling to watch them be parents.

Welcome little Timmy to this big world!  You have two wonderful parents who love you dearly.

And a reminder, today is the last day for a buck a comment!   We’re at $128 to charity:water so far!  I will be making the donation tomorrow.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
