Caroline Tran Photographer – Los Angeles Wedding Photography bio picture

about the artist

I've always loved telling stories, but never enjoyed writing. When I
found photography, it was the perfect medium for me to express myself. With each shoot, I unveil the unique stories of
my subjects, and tell them with beautiful imagery. People often tell me
that they feel like they know my clients just from reading my blog.

They say photographs are the only tangible memories after a wedding,
which means that my perspective is how you will remember your big day.  With that in mind, I have to capture the details (big and
small) in the most beautiful light. I want you to laugh and cry (tears
of joy, of course) when you look at your photos. Whether it's your wedding day or your babies growing up, time goes
by so fast, so it's
my job to document your story... beautifully.

I am based in Los Angeles, but love to travel.

Destination weddings are most certainly welcomed!

In order to give each client my full creative energy, I only take a limited number of weddings a year. (aka I book up fast and don't offer discounts.)

can you feel the anticipation?

I’m probably flying to Hawaii when you read this.  I’m so excited for all the travel that’s in store for this year!  I thought I’d leave you with this teaser for two reasons:

1.  It totally reflects how I’m feeling right now – excited, full of anticipation, and looking forward to the good stuff that’s lying just ahead.

2.  This is a teaser from my first 100% film shoot for a client.  I LOVE the feeling this image evokes… and the perfect skin tones that Richard Photo Lab hands back to me.

Have a fabulous weekend and next two weeks!  I’m going to be in Hawaii for a week, and then Paris for another week.  I’m thinking of taking a blog hiatus and vegging out for two weeks.   Then again, I’m a workaholic, so we’ll see.  :)

May 9, 2010 - 10:06 pm Susy B - OMG Caroline, I started with film & despite my passion for it I kept seeing it constantly eroded by new technology. Kudos to you & your colleagues for rediscovering the magic of film. It's part of the reason I haven't sold my film SLR outfit even after diving into the DSLR world. One HUGE thing I'm struggling with is the exponential amount of time I'm spending post processing. Before I'd drop off my rolls at Costco, shop for an hour, pick 'em up, and churn out photos in 1-2 weeks [despite my 9-5]. Now it's taking me months! Thank you for taking the time to share your adventures. Enjoy film, I miss it's simple delight. =)
