I’m blogging a little out of order.  I’m leaving for NY tomorrow and still have to pack!  Johanna & Charles wedding will have to wait until next week.  For now, I leave you with this sweet engagement session!

Jackie and Eugene are both ER doctors who bought their first (huge) home together.  I drove 60 miles one-way just to check out their new place.  And so worth the drive to see their mansion (to me).  I got to document them doing one of their favorite past times, cooking.  Well, baking to be exact.

I can’t resist cute colorful things.  Especially round shapes.  They’re just so cute to me!

For those interested in the technical, all the indoor was shot digitally.

It was really cool to watch them bake together.  Makes me want a big kitchen!

And I love how much fun they had together doing it.  You gotta get some dough on the nose!

We got to hang out and chat while it baked.  I loved hearing their ER stories… but the one thing that kept crossing my mind was, “Wow, hot doctor!”  Hot & smart!  Isn’t she just so gorgeous?

Then the fun decorating part!  I loved seeing what he created and what she created.

Wedding season is in full swing now and I love it.  It’s like “finals week” in college, but lasts for months.  haha.  Last month, I was lucky enough to go to NY for the first time.  Thanks to the awesome internet, Susan found me from all the way in New York.  We clicked immediately through email and felt like old friends when we finally met up in NY.

I met up with Susan in the city and we took the LIRR into Long Island together.  Jason picked us up from the train station.  Right when he saw us, he walked up and grabbed all the bags from us.  A lady then came up to Susan and told her, “he’s a keeper.”  He sure is.  When I saw them together, I immediately saw how perfect they are together.

I just love the colors here.  NY was amazing and I can’t wait to go back for their wedding next month!

We even went to a beach out there.  I felt at home.

Can you believe this was right by the beach too?  Love me some tall grass!

Bonjour!  Just got back from France yesterday and still adjusting to the time change.  I shouldn’t have slept from 6pm-12am.  It’s now past 5am and I’m still up.  It’s going to hurt tomorrow/today.  France was amazing, but I’m really happy to be home!  And relieved that there’s no traveling for another 5 weeks.  My body needs time to find equilibrium again.  I was too jetlagged to blog yesterday, so I figure since I’m up tonight, I might as well get a new post up for you all!  This is from the recent teaser I posted before I left for Hawaii… or was it France?  Either way, here’s my first engagement session shot almost entirely in film.

Lauren and Chad live right by the beach and enjoys riding their bike together and playing their favorite board game, scrabble.  They rode their bike to meet me for this shoot, and when I saw them roll up in that red tandem bike, I knew we were going to have some fun with it!

Aren’t they just so cute together?  Their chemistry is really evident.

Hello from France!  Last September, I went to Chicago to shoot Anna and Eric’s engagement photos.   Coincidentally, Eileen had inquired about my photography services and happen to live in Chicago.  After my shoot, Eileen came over to my hotel and we had some martinis at the bar together.  We ended up chatting for hours!  We hung out way into the night and didn’t realize how much time had flown by.  They didn’t have their wedding planned yet when we met, so it has been a fun journey for me to see their whole wedding day develop.

They’re getting married in LA next month!  Huge kudos to them for planning a LA wedding from Chicago!  They flew here for a weekend to take care of everything – engagement session, meet vendors, food tasting, etc.  What I love most is how much fun they’re both having with the whole process.  We took their engagement photos in between their meetings with potential caterers… and they still looked so relaxed and just had a ball!

Roland got called in to work at the last minute while I was in Chicago, so I never got to meet him.  It was so cool to finally meet him on this shoot!  I totally fell in love with Eileen at first meeting, so I was so happy for her when I finally got to meet Roland and see what a good guy he is.  Gorgeous couple, aren’t they?  They’re really just as beautiful inside as they are outside too.

I loved Roland even more when I got a glimpse of his cute socks when he sat down!
