firefighter birthday party | happy birthday cameron

My sweet Cameron turned 3rd at the end of the year.  For some reason, this was bittersweet for me – he was no longer a baby but a little kid now.  This would also be the last birthday where he is my only child.  Unlike his first birthday where I admit it was more for […]

colorful birthday bash

I almost didn’t throw Cameron a party this year.  We had just gotten back from Bali and I only had a week to plan it.  Lucky for me, my friends came together and helped me plan this party in just a week!  Wilmarose gave me the inspiration to just keep it simple… we made the […]

Photojournalism is definitely a caring profession. Without right motivation it’s not actually possible to acquire your goal in this field. It is actually directly connected with third eye, this is the reason it is simply not an easy task.

bali photographer

We’re back from Bali and finally adjusted from the jet lag.  It was an amazing trip and I can’t wait to share.  We ended up not having internet for most of the trip, and though it was inconvenient, it was kind of nice to be unplugged!  This photo was taken at the monkey forest in Ubud, […]

This is a great and funny picture! I hope that you and your family had a great time in Bali. It’s a good thing that it’s at the Monkey forest as opposed to the naughty one in Uluwatu. 🙂 I was in fact in Bali early in November and had them posted on my blog as well (http://www.momentdia.com/archives/6907). Love your work and looking forward to see more pictures of Bali from your side! 🙂

i heard about the one in uluwatu! the one where the monkeys steal your jewelry and you have to pay the guards to get it back?

Hery Sugianto - January 6, 2013 - 11:51 pm

That is correct. People say that they are naughty since they were not well fed unlike the one in the Monkey forest. 🙁

I totally love this shot! So funny about being yelled at… they are still wild animals. Cute kid! Love your photos Caroline. I am totally in love with your style.

Photojournalism is really a caring profession. Without the proper commitment it isn’t possible to achieve your ultimate goal in this area. It is directly linked with third eye, that is why it is simply not an painless task.

photographing your own children

Two weeks after Cameron was born, a good friend came to visit me and said, “I’m loving all the photos you have been posting of Cameron, but I must admit I’m surprised to see that they’re all from your phone.  It’s actually comforting to see that your photos of him look like every other mom’s […]

This was such a challenge for me with both my kids, and I’ve finally, FINALLY fallen into a place where I both include them when I am using my professional camera, snapshot them when I have my iPhone. I had to let go of my guilt both FOR photographing them and for NOT photographing them, and I came to that by just making the pictures part of our lives, part of what we do every day or what I’m shooting every week. I also make an effort to do a really good family shoot once every season, so I can treasure “us” as much as I treasure my clients.

P.S. The top image here, with the footprints behind your little guy? Oh. My. Word. It’s art, in real life. It’s the best kind.

thanks for posting this! As a first time mom, I want to document my son’s first year in photos. I dubbed it the 365-day project. However, I felt guilty if the only photo I took that day was from my iPad or phone. Or I felt like I was cheating on him when I spent longer on client’s photo shoot than his milestone photos. This post makes every momtog feel real.

You are amazing! thank you for sharing this! There are times that I don’t have my camera with me and I love that I can just capture my daughter’s smile without worrying what’ s on her face or what she is wearing.

Photojournalism is truly a serious profession. Without the proper motivation it isn’t possible to attain your main goal in this field. It is actually directly connected with third eye, that’s why it’s simply not an very easy job.
